How did you overcome the recession ?

For those who were in the real estate business during the recession around 2008 how did you handle it? What did you do? Did it effect your business? If there were any changes what did you change? How did you make it threw the recession? Just was curious and would like to hear you guys stories.

Only bought one property :(  I won't make that mistake again, haha!
