AIG executives spend $440k at spa after bailout!

When I heard about this I was not a bit surprised. I used to work on Wall Street in the '80s and the attitude of entitlement is astounding. From mid-level traders to the top, they feel like they are entitled to take hired sedans to work, eat lobster for lunch every day and receive gigantic year-end bonuses. That's all well and good when it's just shareholders paying for it.

But now with the bailout, it is ironic that many of these people are conservative Republicans who look at single moms on welfare with distain. Is there anything more hypocritical?

It has always amazed me at the belief that once someone hits a level in business that they feel they are allowed insane "perks".

I worked in films/Hollywood for several years and saw this all the time. Actors and executives treating fans like nothing...when are theses types of people going to understand that the very people they discard are the ones who pay them.

News reporter says "it's not illegal."
There are MANY things that happened that led up to this situation, NONE of them illegal, because our elected representatives (state and federal corgress men and women) changed the laws that permitted the actions-including tax relief, sending jobs overseas, illegal immigration, and many others. NOWHERE-except by Chris Shays the other day, have I seen/heard ANYONE accuse our representatives of having a hand in this.
Everybody is so busy pointing fingers, and nobody is owning up to their responsibility. The CAUSE is the changing of the laws that permitted these things to happen.
So, it may be true that they are not illegal, but that could be changed. It is certainly, IMO, immoral and unethical.

Another gripe I have is the medicare scare: A way to solve that is to put caps on the pay/perks/compensation of the various layers of the medical/ pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, and the amount that they can charge medicare recipeints for ANY drug or medical service.

We can give illegal immigrants free medical care, the same should be done for our own people.

I do not see many pro athletes/actors hurting because of their behavior. In fact, for an actor/actress any press is good press.

The execs on the other hand remind me of the old line "then let them eat cake"

I hold this right up there with golden parachutes
