Moving tips for book lovers

If you are a book lover, you will need to know some things about moving books. They are not some fragile things, of course, but collected together they are quite heavy and moving them can cost you some sufficient money. To reduce expenses and facilitate the moving you need to follow some advice.

Optimize your book collection

It doesn’t matter how much you love books, they are heavy. Deal with it. So decide what you really want to take with you to your new location and find a new home for other part of your collection. Let other people enjoy reading them as much as you did.

Use proper boxes

If you pack your books in the same box as you pack everything else, one mover will be hardly enough for it. So use smaller boxes for the books and make sure that they are solid. Check if they were not influenced by the water. You don’t want your box with books breaks down in the middle of the move.

Book elaborately

While packing, make a strategy: pack the books from one shelf together, label the box, take the chance to rearrange them if necessary.

Pack carefully

Pack the book with great care. Put some sheets on the bottom to protect them. Also, think creatively, as you can place them in the box laying or standing, or using mixed methods. The main thing is to make sure no books are placed at an angle.

Unpack the books in one of the first days

If you have a lot of books you won’t feel comfortable with 10-15 even small boxes around you. So after the furniture is assembled and the bad is done, you had some food and rest, it’s time to unpack the books, at least part of them. Nothing will let you feel more at home than a bookshelf full of your favorite books.
