Josh: What’s going on everybody? This is Josh Dorkin, host of the BiggerPockets Podcast, here with Brandon Turner. What up Brandon?

Brandon: Let’s see if we can get this right here on our 20th take Josh?

Josh: I will try. I will try. Admittedly, I have been falling short today, I’m not getting a lot of sleep lately. Sorry—sorry to let you down Brandon.

Brandon: You know, do you want a little cheese with that wine?

Josh: I—I would love some Asiago or something else, you know.

Brandon: Winer. My Dad always said that to me growing up. Do you want some cheese with that wine? Now, I get to say it to my friends.

Josh: If only you had some. Well, listen. This is Show 16 and we are actually doing a rerecorded Show 16 and for those of you who look at Show 16, you will see that, this is not quite a full length show and why is that Brandon?

Brandon: Well, there was a sad story that a lot of investors have heard of, but probably don’t understand the full ramifications of, and that is called Dodd Frank, and we are not going to go into it because we’re not going to bore you, but the fact is, the stuff we talked about in Show 16 is no longer allowed by a lot of new legislations. Rather than making all our listeners go and do things that is illegal, we will just remove that show and make you go into Show 17.

Josh: Yeah—yeah, so unfortunately, there’s constantly folks out there who work in our government who writes laws without fully contemplating the ramifications of said laws. I think this is the case Show 16 was about land contracts, creative selling, and again some of the things we covered in the show are no longer valid so we do apologize and did want to make that clarification. Frankly, you know, I’m going to take a second here and make a political statement and say if you guys see these laws that are coming out as being harmful to investors in general.

You know, we definitely encourage you to step up and write to your senators, congressman, your legislators, and let them know how you feel. If Dodd Frank or anything else is impacting you in a negative way, you know, if we can all stand together and work together, I think we potentially can—can—make some changes and so I encourage folks to speak with their keyboards and their phone calls.

Brandon: Wow, look at you work man, Mr. Political.

Josh: That’s how we work man. That’s how change happens. You got to step up and not hide behind those turtle shell glasses of yours Brandon. Well, that’s it, that’s the show. Sorry to disappoint guys, but once again, we had to pull this one. Jump in, check out the rest of our podcasts and if you haven’t already, make sure to jump into BiggerPockets where you can ask questions, read up all about Dodd Frank , and lots of other prevalent issues and relevant. Is prevalent the right word?

Brandon: Sure—sure, yeah, we can say whatever we want to say. Yeah. Nobody is listening to this anyway, they’ve all gone onto 17 with Jeff Brown.

Josh: Seventeen with Jeff Brown? Listen to the bald guy, guys. He knows what he’s talking about.

Brandon: Alright. With that, let’s get out of here.

Josh: Brandon, with BiggerPockets and Josh.

Brandon: And Josh, signing out.
