About us
The Monzo Group started in 1999 purchasing homes throughout Macomb county. We renovated the properties and turn them into "buy and hold" rental properties. Since those early days, we have acquired large contracts with HUD and Banks with local homes and handle all marketing, maintenance, and inspection services. Real Estate always came naturally to me. With mentorship from two Realtor grandparents and a residential investor father, I developed the passion early and have been doing deals ever since. One property at a time, I built a large block of turn-key rental properties based primarily in Macomb County. In 2004, I decided to expand my investor skill set by getting my Realtors license. The business came easy to me considering I have been around it my whole life. One deal led to another, which eventually led to a contract offer to market homes for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This contract brought me to another level and enabled me to create a solid marketing plan while bringing employees on to grow the business. Since our HUD account, we have serviced dozens of banks and credit unions over the years. A large portion of our inventory is sold to investors and we developed close relationships with a large number of them. With this high level of performance, our business continues to expand with a large presence in the estate and probate sale market.

What truly stood out was Mark Hanna's commitment to ensuring I felt informed and confident every step of the way. He was always available for a phone call or text, which made a world of difference during the more stressful moments of the buying process. My transaction was not without its challenges, but when I tell you that Mark helped me get this deal done and over the finish line, he did that!! There was no hurdle too high that he did not help work through. Got the deal settled and closed. I cannot say enough great things about Mark.

Regan from the Monzo group was our realtor. After only a couple showings he was able to zero in on the kind of home we were looking for. While we were shopping around, it was clear Regan was trying to find the best home he could find for us. It never felt like he was trying to push us into something we didn't love, and he'd be the first to call out when something wasn't up to snuff. His experience meant he'd catch a lot of things we would've otherwise missed.
After we found our dream home, we went from making an offer to keys in hand in 3 WEEKS! As patient as he was during showings, Regan and his team were incredibly streamlined once the offer was accepted. He was in constant contact with the listing agent, lender, and title company. He even reached out to some people in the area he knew personally to get some questions answered for us. And ultimately he got us into the home we've always wanted at a great price.
We can't recommend Regan and the Monzo group enough.

Working with Matt Hamann and the Monzo group was truly the best decision I could have made as a first-time home buyer. Matt took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and found houses that fit my needs. His communication was excellent, always following up, answering my questions quickly, and making sure I understood every step. Matt guided me through the inspection process, worked with me through the loan process, and made sure all the details were handled on time. He was also able to negotiate $3000 in concessions to go towards my closing costs, which was completely unexpected and super helpful. His professionalism and attention to detail made the entire experience overall great. I’m very grateful for my experience and will recommend Matt to my family and friends looking to buy a home!

I can’t say enough good things about working with Monzo Group, and especially with Carol. I sold two properties in Detroit with her help, and as someone living out of state, I really needed someone I could trust. Carol made everything so much easier for me. She took care of every detail, kept me in the loop, and genuinely cared about what was best for me and my money.
What really stood out was how she handled things with my contractors—she went out of her way to make sure repairs and updates happened smoothly, even when I couldn’t be there in person. Honestly, Carol did way more than any other realtor I’ve worked with. She was always available, super responsive, and made the whole experience as stress-free as possible.
