Legacy Property Management – Tenant Review of Silicon Valley
* Communication became extremely difficult after the lease was signed.
* Phone calls and emails often went unanswered, with inconsistent or nonexistent follow-up.
* We were charged for appointments that Legacy failed to properly coordinate or schedule, making their communication failures a direct cost to us.
* Legacy had approximately 10 days between lease signing and tenancy start to prepare the property.
* Despite this, the property was not delivered in a functional, move-in-ready condition.
When we took possession of the home:
* Blinds were not functioning.
* Dishwasher would not drain.
* Multiple lights were not working.
* Dimmer switches were broken.
* Screen doors would not open properly.
* Curtains could not be drawn.
* Closet rod was broken.
* Closet doors would not open.
* Backyard was severely overgrown and unusable.
* The explanation provided was that they “did not expect the house to rent this quickly.”
* That explanation does not change the fact that the property was not ready for occupancy.
The impact on us:
* We could not move into the house as planned because the handyman required unrestricted access to the property for approximately 10 days after possession.
* Instead of settling into the home, we spent our time documenting issues, taking photographs, reporting problems that should have been identified before move-in, and coordinating around handymen while basic functionality was being restored.
* We lost time, convenience, and use of the home we were paying for.
The larger issue was not any single repair item.
The larger issue was:
* Poor communication.
* Poor coordination.
* Lack of ownership.
* Lack of accountability.
* Failure to deliver the property in a move-in-ready condition.
To homeowners and tenants considering Legacy Property Management for property management services, we would encourage you to carefully evaluate other companies before making a decision.

I am writing a review as a former property owner of single family residence in Palo Alto. Legacy Property Management was my property manager from 2020 to 2026 before we sold our property. Legacy is a class act and I would likely recommend them, and the owner Derrick, as reliable, honest, and committed to exceptional service. Legacy is locally owned and operated and there's a grass roots knowledge and understanding of the communities they serve and the people they support. I will miss the "old fashioned, just pick up the phone and talk" relationship that I developed with Derrick and his team. Best of luck!

We have worked with Legacy Property Group for 11 years and have always appreciated how responsive and proactive the team has been. From repairs to reporting and questions and follow up, we’ve always have a great experience. Working with the team has always felt personable and not corporate and we appreciate feeling like family with them.

I was introduced to Rosemary through my real estate agent. Rosemary has been very responsive to my phone calls and questions. She is pretty easy to get in touch with and always lets me know if there is an issue with the rental. Overall, I would highly recommend her if I have any future rental units.

We recently switched management companies to Legacy and so far I have been very pleased with them. They are keeping up with our documents, helping to get some of our "to-do" list accomplished, and provide us with a general level of respect that our former company did not have. They are prompt when we reach out with questions and they are quick about trying to get any problems resolved.
