Backstory: when we moved into our apartment, we paid $1050 because it was not in the best shape. The bedroom doors upstairs broken, closet doors unattached, cracks in the tile, holes in the ceiling and wall my fiancee patched up, broken blinds, stains and cracks on the walls and floors, ets We cleaned and fixed what we could without breaking the bank, as part of the deal for getting it cheaper was we rented it "as is". Landlord sold the building to new guy. After a couple years, new guy hires moxie management. Now, we can talk about Moxie. We have already paid a non-refundable pet screening fee ($250) with the original landlord. Since Moxie stepped in, they want us to pay ANOTHER pet screening fee ($30/pet). They require a bogus resident benefits package, which holds absolutely no value to us considering we pay rental insurance yearly, not monthly. When stating that we don't need that they said it is required for their people to verify we have insurance every month. Well, we can give the proof once a year. There is no need to check every month when it is paid in full, therefore it is truly a junk fee to just collect more money from rentors. The junk fees have to go. Disabled people, especially veterans, should be exempt from their scams. The rent is being increased again to make it comparable to other apartments in the area, however as stated in the backstory, one could imagine our unit is in fact NOT comparable to others in the area.

Dave and the team at Moxie are absolutely outstanding. Great communication with vendors, tenants and landlords. Running a PM company is no easy task. Countless people to answer to and a ton of juggling to do. This company does it effortlessly! Call them today!

As I was downsizing and looking for a rental I was lucky enough to have found a house in Mystic to rent through Moxie Management. I wanted to rent until I found a house to purchase. Needless to say, I am lucky enough that I was able to purchase a house for my needs. The experience with Moxie Management has been great. Especially with the maintenance - Paul. I have had a couple maintenance requests and each time Paul has completed the requests. He has been very polite, courteous , respectful and very knowledgeable when making the repairs. I am lucky to have a group of individuals that m is friendly and courteous with my rental experience. Keep up the great work Moxie management!!!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! NO it’s the ceiling FALLING DOWN! Please see photos below 👇. 200 Montauk ave Apt 2B new London CT, Managed by Moxie Managment. Unfortunately We were not able to stay the remainder of our lease. Moving out of the space end of March of 2025 in a HURRY! It was suprising to see the already rented the unit In less than a month after. Specifically around April 18 the listing was removed. And on top of that it was $1,450 for a 1 bed unit under 700 square feet, MIND YOU this doesn’t include any utilities. This organization is highway robbery. They are all about there landlords and screw the tenants. Why might you ask? We noticed the roof coming down as soon as we moved in. Waited a few months before reporting, landlords and RE Brokers loved to say it’s the house settling……. WELP! It’s settled alright! Right on my son’s forehead! You READ that correct ✅ yes PIECES of debris fell on my son’s forehead from the ceiling cracking straight through the middle. We notified managment in December GAVE me the silent ear. Followed back up end of January, finally a response. It took them 2 weeks to send out a handyman, 1 MONTH later an engineer comes, states they have to open the ceiling to find out why it’s cracking through the foundation of the home. 3 WEEKS after that, they gave me a response of they were going to PLASTER over the ceiling of the crack. And that should square away the issue until my lease is up. Mind you I am paying 1,350 for them to give me the run around ona ceiling which is a breach of contract! After they informed me of this, I immediately demanded the contract to be broken and we would vacate the property expeditiously. Lo and BEHOLD per SLUMLORD VERBATIM, which that in which I stated wasn’t and option! Yea, how do you think that worked out? After some emails in LEGALize were exchanged they finally got the point and realized I was in the right. MIND YOU thEY DIDNT CUT A WHOLE IN THE CEILING TO CHECK WHAT WAS THE ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE …… Negligence negligence negligence, WAS my experience with them. We appreciate the real estate agent AMANDA for originally helping us she was great. Unfortunately no help, not even a word was uttered at the end. Lastly they tried to hit me with fees after I left! All this happening and the unit is poorly insulated, meaning you’re gonna be paying $400 a month on light. The laundry in the basement never worked, neither fridge the pin for the door. Fast forward to today, I was online and brushed over the listing and saw it was rented in record time! IDEK if the next tenants knew about this previous structural issue!! Someone needs to call the building inspector on this building! May the LIGHT be with those who read this so that futures constituents of the area don’t have to work with such an experience in their life.

If I could give a zero I would....the management says one thing only to be slap in the face a day or so saying a whole different story. If they have to run everything by the landlord first then don't come up with all these ideas make it look like it's looking up only for it to fall back down. Most of the time management says they would call us back NEVER did always had to call them back. Had to replace so much stuff and still didn't get everything when at first we was told they would rent us a U-Haul for us to go and move it all out (we moved 11 hrs away). Only to get the ball rolling with it and get it oh I'm sorry landlord doesn't want to do it. Definitely not the greatest people to deal with, they definitely need to work on communication skills....not to mention the people right next door I had to deal with music blasting (from the inside), when the two youngest ones get in fights and have to listen to the screaming and yelling, also dealing with the old man he went at my mom few times and my father he likes to start stuff then runs inside! If anyone is wondering about the crappy job that was in that bathroom that was because the old man next door said he could do it hahaha... honestly I'm glad all this happened they say stuff happens for a reason now got a house with a yard (wayyy cheaper here) and got rid of crappy neighbors!

Had a terrible move in experience. Pressured to move in early so I agreed and then my move was delayed due to misinformation from management - wont bother going through all the lies i was told and found out it wqs untrue afger signing lease. It's been almost 3 months and only 1 item on my inspection sheet was actually taken care of. They've left glass in the yard, only my mailbox without a number, my door barely shuts correctly, maintenance (when they do show up) let themselves in at times you did not agree to, piles of garbage weekly in the front lawn due to 3 bins for 6 multi bed apartments. Then the apartment I live in just gets moved to another management company, clearly they never intended on fixing anything and left it to someone else. So glad they offered such a great maintenence package for $30 a month and you get absolutely nothing. ** edit to add since reply makes it seem like I wasn't understanding Everything pictured and mentioned was post 30 days of request. Glass has been there since before moving in almost 90 days ago. Maintenence came twice ever - once for my stove that they claimed my cats can turn on and a second time to break the frame of my door and leave the pieces there to "fix it" so I could shut it. A plumber came over 2 months after move in (30 days after promised) to fix the kitchen since so it'd drain. Also, the benefits package has 24-hour emergency maintenance with a number that is always straight to voice-mail and doesn't return calls. Was told the first time I tried to call that it was because the phone was dead due to power outage. Called the number almost daily for giggles and it never ever rang. I recieved a $100 credit for move in issues...$50 of that was then used for internet install since I was lied to about it being wired already. You have great working in your response to make it out like the best was done, it simply wasn't. Management acknowledged multiple times this was "unacceptable" yet did nothing.

UPDATE 2024 Moxie management is no longer my management company, thank god. Moved me into a FILTHY apartment, broken tile that my dog can cut his foot on, no outlet cover on a light switch, sludge in the fridge, and garbage EVERYWHERE outside. They just want money. Never followed the lease, had to report them to the city because they would never move the furniture around the dumpster, garbage, and long weeds. They ignored all requests until management was all of a sudden switched. Obviously did this on purpose. Constant lies, broken promises, nasty apartment. Oh, and the building has mice that they conveniently put in the lease that after 30 days I’m apparently responsible for the ENTIRE building. You take advantage of people desperate for housing. It’s disgusting, actually follow the lease instead of just pocketing money and never doing correct updates. AVOID!!!!!! Property manager is rude for no reason. When I first moved in she asked me if I put the electric in my name and in the whole paperwork process never once told me to do so. And when she asked me she talked to me like I was stupid because SHE never told ME to. Guess I can read minds. Oh, and the washer thats from the 90’s in our building is constantly breaking, its been broken my whole lease and I’ve been here for almost 6 months. What am I paying for? For broken appliances? I keep messaging you guys and get the runaround. Its not hard to buy a used washer. And when I moved in, the refrigerator had nasty stuff CAKED on the bottom. I had to use a brush and toothbrush to get the gunk off and it was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.
