Can we have a realtor on call ?

Saw an article recently (link below) highlighting how a real estate brokerage is leveraging AI to find homes for clients and achieving significant results.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/real-estate/first-ever-ai-real-estate

While this specific case is from the brokerage's perspective, it raises an interesting question: Could AI become a powerful tool directly for consumers looking for homes?

Think about a dedicated AI "digital expert" focused on the buyer's needs. One common complaint in real estate is the difficulty in getting timely responses or feeling like your specific needs aren't fully understood by busy agents.

How would this work:

I presume one would search for properties and then can ask follow up questions to an ai agent about a property. Essentially, having an ai agent realtor on call.

Let me know what you think ?

I don’t hate these ideas at all. As a realtor and someone who appreciates the efficiency AI can bring, I think—like anything—it comes down to how it’s used. Most buyers and sellers still value the relationship and guidance of a real agent, but if we can leverage tools like this to stay more available or responsive, it’s just one more way to raise the bar and deliver top-tier service.

      Quote from @Cole Bossert:

The heads of brokerages would also love this. AI will allow people to buy homes on their own, but i do think established realtors will be enhanced even more.

I think that the world is definitely moving in this direction, and as Cole said there is a lot of potential here for efficiencies.  That being said, from the legal perspective, you want to be very careful in its implementation.  Two specific examples are your license and private information.  In order to provide real estate broker services you must be licensed, right?  How about the AI?  Clearly, the AI tool isn't licensed and it's YOUR responsibility to ensure that what's done by the AI wouldn't be considered services that trend into that territory, at least without your direct supervision.  In addition, especially if you are using a free tool, any and ALL information you are inputting (or the client is inputting) to the AI is kept and used by the AI and it's owner/creator, which has very concerning implications when it comes to privacy.  Some of these concerns can be assuaged by only using a paid, encapsulated AI service and careful management though!
