Is RE software making us more work? Building FlipOps to fix the "Manual Grind"

Hey BiggerPockets community,

I'm Mason, a developer and entrepreneur currently building in the real estate tech space. I've been diving deep into the workflows of flippers and wholesalers, and frankly, I'm shocked at how much "manual grind" is still required to run a modern REI business.

My co-founder and I are currently building FlipOps-- An All-in-One Platform for RE Investors. We started this project because we kept seeing the same pattern: investors are forced to juggle five different "tools" that don't talk to each other, or they're stuck using CRMs that feel like they were built for a different decade.

Most real estate software feels like it was designed in 2005. You’re either paying for a "deal analyzer" that’s just a glorified spreadsheet, lead gen with no qualitative functionality to source quality leads, or you're stuck with a CRM that requires 20 clicks just to log a single lead.

The frustrations we’re hearing (and trying to solve):

  • The "Button Fatigue": Software that’s so bloated with features you don't use that it actually slows down your workflow.
  • Manual Data Entry: Spending more time typing addresses and contact info than actually talking to sellers.
  • Lack of Real Automation: "Automation" shouldn't just mean a list of contacts; it should handle heavy lifting like finding actual qualified leads with high close-rates, while you're out looking at properties.

Our Goal with FlipOps: We’re building a streamlined, automated hub specifically for small-to-mid-size flippers and wholesalers. We want to cut out the "busy work" so you can focus on the "deal work."

I’d love your honest input:

  1. What is the one thing your current software (PropStream, DealMachine, REsimpli, etc.) does that drives you crazy?
  2. If you could automate one repetitive task in your flipping business today, what would it be?

We’re in the early stages and want to build this based on what the community actually needs, not what we think you need. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from the pros here!
