Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here.I'm moving to Allen, TX in July 2021. I'm just wondering how difficult is it to find a rental property in Allen, TX. I just recently got my real estate license and still have a full time job. I want to get into real estate more but don't know where/how to start. I'm looking for a mentor in Allen, TX. If anyone is willing to mentor me, I'm willing to learn. Thanks.

It's hot here for sure, but you could look at house hacking a SFR or duplex. There's a few neighborhoods with duplexes in Allen. I've seen more multifamilies in the Garland area though, so that could be an option for you.

So are you looking for a place to rent, or a place to buy and rent out?

Allen is a great place to live, but prices are tough now where sales prices have outpaced rent increases from most of what I see.

I have a few rentals in Allen, McKinney, and Frisco and have been on the lockout since early this year but as Bruce said, the market is very hot right now and the rent/buy multiples don't make any sense anymore. The purchase price has far outpaced rents and I have not been able to get a decent unit in the last couple of months as well. I am afraid we may have to wait till about September before the market stabilizes, maybe.
