Cost of gutting a plaster house to the studs

Posted

I am looking at an 1150 sq ft 3 b/r 1.5 bath house built around 1927. The woodwork is stunning every door and window has beautiful original woodwork that I want to salvage. The wall however are plaster with wall paper that was water damaged and dried as is years ago. No sign of mold but pelaing wall paper and water stains everywhere. I can do most f the work myself or with my own people but I would first need to gut property down to the studs. I have heard estimates from 15k to 50k. Has anyone done this and could you share the cost. I am located in NE PA

Thanks in advance for your time.
