I'm trying to save for a rental property and I feel like investing in a REET would be a great way to accumulate my down payment but I can't decide between Scott McGillivrays fund and grant cardone, I live in Barrie Ontario tell me what you guys think

Scott McGillivray is aiming for 20% return

Cardone capital is aiming for 10-15% roi

I would not decide where to invest solely on pro forma returns. Secondly, if you are mainly saving up to purchase a rental property, these funds probably won't be liquid for several years after you invest. Thirdly, syndications, funds, and real estate are high-risk investments; saving money in a money market fund might make more sense until you are ready to purchase your own property.

Both Scott McGillivray's and Grant Cardone's funds have different risk/reward profiles. McGillivray's higher target (20%) might imply higher risk, possibly with a Canadian focus. Cardone's (10-15%) is US-centric, often in large multifamily.

For your Barrie property goal, consider your risk tolerance, geographic focus (Canadian vs. US market/currency), and always do deep due diligence on their specific strategies and fees.
