And now to begin ...

I heard someone once describe life by saying the first 1/3 was for learning, the second 1/3 for earning and the final 3rd for living.  Well, I'm now just finishing my earning phase (I wish that sounded better) as I transition out of 35 years of being an optometrist and wonder what comes next.

While practicing, my wife and I purchased everything from a few single family homes to a small multi-unit to a 54 unit property, all sort of on the side, when we had time.  We even built a few spec homes (did we make any money at all?) and developed some raw ground.  But we're out of most of all that now.

I discovered BiggerPockets.com in just the last few weeks and like it.  I really like the many videos so I joined as a Pro member just today to access the past webinars primarily.  By filling out my profile and doing this blog (never before and who knows, maybe never again) I am hoping to force myself to jump back into real estate with both feet and find a way to be primarily a real estate investor, not just as a sideline. Can BiggerPockets.com help me in this final 3rd of my life to be a happy and successful real estate investor?  We'll see!
