Chinese Drywall

Confused about Chinese drywall? If you'd like my opinion, I'd be happy to give it to ya. Matter of fact, shoot me an email and I'll send you a short article I wrote about it. Since that article, one of my friends, Robert Brown has found Chinese drywall in Central Florida! First case I've heard of!!! I also found a company that recommends you NOT mitigate the drywall for fear of cross contamination. Well heck, which is worse? Leave it and let everything metal in the house turn to dust or gut it and take your chances? FYI...another friend of mine Jeff Hooper, construction expert and expert witness, has told us of stories from down south of a case he's working on where even the Jag in the garage was corroded! Well...if I had a Jag, I'd take my chances and get it out for sure.

Whether it's Chinese drywall, lead paint (big issue next year), defective building components, give me a holler and I'll tell you everything that I know. Totally unbiased. [email protected]

  1. Interesting post. Chinese drywall is rampant here in Lee County, but there are options. Find a contractor who is willing to do the work properly and you can have a safe and functional house again. However if you have someone who will remediate the home to the Consumer Product Safety Commission standards....RUN!! It doesn't go nearly far enough to protect the public.
