Our Third Property

With our second property being so dry, we went looking for more property. My guidelines to the realtors were to have a stream or pond on the property. The realtors would bundle you into the car and drive 1.5 hours out in the country and show you a house with a dried up hole in the ground where the pond was supposed to be. They had egg all over their faces for not previewing the property, but their only excuse was that the “MLS said there was a pond”. We finally found 11 acres of land with a nice full pond in December of 1982. The year of 1982 was the year we jumped into real estate with both feet. A rental home in January, 120 acres of dry land in September and then 11 acres with a pond in December!
