Creating a Residental Assisted Living Business from nothing

I would like to start out by saying I have never done a real estate deal of any kind. I am a very average American that found out in June of 2017 that real estate can change your financial future. Since that date it has been a addiction to learn as much information as possible about real estate and its many forms.

I guess like most people you get to the point of analysis paralysis and before I knew it a year had passed by. Listening to pod casts and watching YouTube videos became a form of entertainment. Its something I enjoyed to do because I love to learn, but with so many options that real estate provides, you could spend a life time learning all of its ways and never take action. That's what I was doing.

I joined my local REIA in Nov 2017, and the first meeting I attended, Gene Guarino was there. He is the founder of the Residential Assisted Living Academy. Long story short I sat through the presentation and wanted to know more. I think I paid around $50.00 to go to a local hotel the following day to hear more of what he had to say. That's when after talking to my wife I signed up to attend his 3-Day fast track out in Phoenix Arizona in March 2018. It cost approx. $2000.00, not including flight and hotel to attend the event. I had fun and learn a lot, but of course I ended up with more questions than answers.

Fast forward six months, I still haven't taken action. I called up Jim which is Gene's brother and said I want to take action. Now this is were IMO its put up or shut up. I didn't have to money laying around but I did have a HELOC on my home that I used to purchase weekly support from his team, and a wealth of information that you are able to download and use in your future RAL business. Like I said before I have never done a real estate deal so I felt I needed the hand holding and documentation that they provide.

Its been I little more than 3 months since I started and its not as easy as I thought it would be. I will get into more of that in future posts. I hope this blog helps me stay accountable for my actions and maybe start a discussion that can help others in the future.

Thanks for reading, until next time, have a great day.
