Starting the journey

I am completely new to real estate. Just so you are aware where this journey is beginning, I have yet to get a deal in either wholesaling or flipping. I am 44, have a girlfriend that I am trying to bring on this journey, and currently working a job that I do not  like. My first steps have been to learn by watching YouTube and reading everything I can get my hands on. I am listening to podcasts (at this minute Bigger Pockets Business: How to guarantee profit from day 1). A common thing that I have been hearing has been don't get tied up in your head, thinking you need to learn more. So, I am going to watch a few more videos on cold calling, making that first call and try it for myself. I should have at least a couple calls made within the next few days.
