3 Communication Tips in Real Estate

Normal 1598534087 Communication

Effective communication is beneficial for the work environment and working relationships between partners and clients. In the age of Covid-19, it is important than ever to have a good communication strategy to carry out the business. The three communication tips for positive business outcomes are:

Be consistent. Communicate openly and clearly of expectations for the team and for the week. Make sure everyone on the team knows what he/she suppose to do and what needs to be accomplished. The goal is to be able to rely on each other through open communication that let each other know what one is doing, the challenges that one might be facing and any feedback one might have for the work or for each other. Always be supportive, yet, stand the ground with meeting and work deadlines. Also follow up with questions, feedback, and advice to show a supportive work environment and trust.

Stay positive. In the age of Covid-19 where working from home is the norm while juggling with deadlines and difficult work situations with no colleagues around, positivity and encouragement are much needed than ever. Deliver happy news, uplifting messages, praise, and shout-outs to the team during meetings. The goal is to make team members feel welcomed and supported at every step of the way. While talking, the team leader must also be mindful the message would come across and be received. Always keep in mind that now that we can not see each other face-to-face often, the message must be clear and with much respect. This should also be as inspirational and encouraging as possible. By sending the right message with supportive, the team will work better with each other as well as with the upper management. Thus, keep a positive vibe with positive attitude for the team and the work to maintain a long-lasting working relationship.

Stay connected. Right now, it is necessary than ever to stay connected. Real estate is all about relationships and communication, therefore, always stay in touch with phone calls. That personal voice with phone conversations is irreplaceable. It allows each person on the other line to feel and know how each other is feeling. Help can be offered if one feels there is some challenge or difficulty in the voice. During this time of social distancing, uplifting talk and a hand for help are much appreciated and valued. Furthermore, working and personal relationships will be stronger with much needed conversations and care during this uncertain time of virtual and social distancing. While human connection or interaction is being interrupted, staying connected with check-in emails and phone conversations will be remembered and valued which will promote good business in the long run.
