Day 1

So tomorrow I will consider to be Day 1 on this new venture of mine. The economy is in the tank, I am in school full-time for the next three years, but i still need to make a living for myself, my fiancee, and my son. I have decided to be a wholesaler. Obviously many of you have done it and are doing it. I cant wait to learn the ropes myself. I think for the last few months I have had that "paralysis of analysis" thing going on, I never feel like I know enough to go out and try to make something happen, now Im saying screw it lets take a first step atleast. This is what I know, not sure in what order these things go or specifically how to do them:

1. Build a buyers list

2. Find motivated sellers

3. Find real estate agents, title companies, and contractors that will work with me.

4. Complete a deal and repeat

The first time I tried this, the title agencies I called acted as thought they had no idea what I was talking about, and that discouraged me. That was a different city, I'm in a new place and I will start fresh. Any advice and encouragement will be appreciated thanks.

Also if there are anyone in my area that wouldn't mind mentoring me I would love to meet you.

  1. Curtis, glad to see you getting started. You might want to do a search on buyers list and read through the wholesaling forum threads. There are lots of great articles as well. The good thing is your getting started and holding yourself accountable. When you have questions don't be afraid to ask them in the forums.

  2. Curtis, you have picked a great time to get started. I wish you luck on your venture. I also believe if you make a commitment to keeping your blog updated as to your progress it will put healthy pressure on yourself to push forward when the times get tough. I am pulling for you!
