What are you doing today?

Today is a very special day. Not because it's a holiday, a day off work, or someone's birthday. Today is the day where we, as American citizens, get to exercise our right and voice our opinion through voting. Statistics say that less than 40% of the voting population with actually cast a vote today. I ask that you be one of those people.

I am also asking that you encourage others to vote too. This is not a request to share your opinion, persuade someone to vote for the candidate you prefer or the local issue you support, but rather a plea to get involved. It only takes a few minutes to vote.

There are so many important issues that are decided by the issues on the ballots and through our elected officials. Items that affect our daily lives, business decisions and the future of our nation. These items are decided by the people that vote. You can be one of those people.

Of course, as a business person, you should never share your opinions about politics, religion, family, etc. with clients. However, you can make sure that your voice is heard. Go to the polls or turn in your mail-in ballot. Be counted. Be heard.

  1. Thanks Dory -- I'm planning on it . . . just plotting my course for now.

  2. Joshua, I agree 100%. Now, run for office! :)

  3. Deanna - I'd like to add that I hope that people don't just go out and vote, but take the time to make informed decisions before they cast a ballot. Far too many people, in my opinion, vote based on some party line - depending on their affiliated party - instead of looking at candidates and issues with an independent mind. It takes courage to vote in opposition of your party, but I truly believe that country comes ahead of party affiliation. And that's my political speech for the day....
