CHANGES IN HOUSING
The study points to the flailing economy for this new attitude that “less is more” with smaller homes and homes that have less amenities. In addition, in today’s market, less homes are being built. The answers in the study came from home builders, architects, manufacturers and designers. They note that the average new single-family detached home in 2015 will have smaller square footage than homes today with an average size that is about 10% smaller than homes built in 2010.
