Is it Time Yet?

Just like every other product for sale, homes sell better some times of the year than other times of the year. The peak period for home sales in Greater Phoenix is in late spring and early summer. Around mid-autumn, home sales start to drop off and stay low until early spring, when they start to rise again. The lowest point on the cycle happens in January. This is an important piece of information to consider for two main reasons: not to be so frightened and to consider buying now.

It is no secret that the housing market is bad right now. All across the country people are watching their markets diligently, making predictions based on every piece of analysis. As we head into the deader season of winter, already-low home sales are going get lower. Do not let that particular fact frighten you away from buying a home. Make sure that you are considering all the data together, not just one portion of it.

Of course, if the demand for a product is low, it is not difficult or expensive to find that product. There is a very small demand for homes. If you have been considering buying a home near Phoenix, Arizona, it may very well turn out to be that this winter is the best time to do so.

Even if the housing market isn’t doing much better by the time spring comes around, it might be a risk to wait for the next “low” period. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that this time next year we will be looking at a significantly stronger market.

Conversely, even if we are in a significantly stronger market, it will not be a strong market. This time next year, there is no doubt that the market will still be shaky at best. So if you are willing to take the risk and wait for next year, there will still be plenty of great value homes on the market.
