Day 0 - The day I decided to start learning.

Today is the day. Today I decided to learn about real estate and how I can benefit from it so I can provide for my family and be around for my children more than my parents were for me. My parents worked hard to pay for my needs, education and even some wants along the way.  Growing up in Massachusetts I was blessed to have a family that albeit not perfect, still was able to teach me the value of a dollar. My parents had 5 income properties, but when I was 11 Mm parents got divorced and most of them were sold off. I went to school, then the Marine Corps, and sometime while I was nearing my end of active service I decided I wanted to do my own thing more than take orders from bosses. I always knew real estate was the way to go but never had any clue how to get there. Years went by and in 2017 (I think) I decided that I wanted to really start to learn about Real estate. I looked around and found Grant Cardone, and wow him talking about sales and how to negotiate and make deals happen was life changing. But it wasn't enough. I couldn't start with a multi million dollar 200+ door complex so I did more research. I finally ended up discovering Bigger Pockets and that really changed my life, again. I put things into perspective, and really taught me how to go from step 1 to wherever I was willing to work to get to.

It's been about 4 years now, and I finally have the means to start investing in rental properties. Not a lot, but it's something. I started working with someone in Detroit and as a San Diego resident he has been nothing short of spectacular. I'm really optimistic about where I can go and how I can start and actually get my first income property.

This fire burning inside has really started to erupt into a ball of action. Four years of listening to BP Podcasts, Analyzing deals, being a Pro member, reading every book I could get my hands on about real estate, personal finance; my experience losing jobs, getting new ones, COVID layoff, New job again... Now more than ever do I realize the importance of having a passive income and being able to provide for my family in a way other than working a 9-5.

Take Care, and God bless.
