What is Feng-Shui? Should you learn more about it?

There are three key principles of feng shui: The Bagua Map, The Five Elements, and The Commanding Position.

There are nine areas of life represented on the map: Career, Knowledge, Family, Wealth, Fame, Love, Children, Health, and Helpful People. Each area is associated with a specific color, element, and symbol. For example, the Career area is associated with the color black, the element of water, and the symbol of a dragon.

The Five Elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Each element is associated with a specific color, season, direction, and symbolism. The elements are in constant interaction with each other and must be in balance in order to create harmony.

The Commanding Position is the placement of furniture and objects in a room so that you have a clear view of the door. This positioning is said to give you a “commanding” view of your space and help you avoid negative energy.
