First (of many) blog posts.

Hello! My name is Jordan Norr, and I am from Salmon, Idaho. I learned about real estate investing after listening to "The millionaire next door." That book ultimately lead to my being interested in real estate investing. I cannot remember now, but I heard about this book called "Rich dad, poor dad." I reluctantly downloaded the book and after several weeks decided I would give it a shot. After about 30 minutes of listening to it I was HOOKED. I don't know exactly what it was, but that book put investing at the top of my to do list. By now I'm sure most of you have read or listened to that book, but if you haven't I strongly suggest it. It sheds light on the many reasons for why investing is the smart thing to do, at any age.

From there on out I started listening to many more books on the subject of investing. I attended a Rich dad free seminar after hearing about it on the radio in Twin Falls, Idaho, where I was living at the time. I knew it was fate and that I had to attend.

After listening to the speakers talk about the wonders of real estate investing and the promise of teaching us how to invest, several of us payed $500 and signed up for a 3-day seminar in Salt Lake City (a 4 hour drive from Twin Falls.)

At the 3 day seminar, we got started by socializing and meeting everyone in the room. There were about 35 of us there who had all payed the $500 to be there. Shortly thereafter the speaker had several of the other helpers there in the room hand out some materials and workbook with a price sheet in it. He wanted to address the "elephant in the room," and talk about the prices of different courses they offered. I dont recall exactly the amount of the cheapest one, but it was in the ballpark of $13,000. The most expensive one being $40,000!

To sum it all up, a few of the people signed up for various levels of their courses, and I wanted to wait and think about it, as well as talk to my cousin about it who was a realtor and dabbled in some real estate investments. That turned out to be the smartest thing I ever did. My cousin told me about this website called "Bigger Pockets," and that I could learn almost everything I wanted to know for free.

That was in 2017, and I have been a BP "junkie" ever since! To date I have only done 1 wholesale deal, which I will cover in another blog post, BUT I have decided I am going to make 2022 my year, and get into the game that I have been dying to get into since my first wholesale deal.

I am going to be writing a blog post as often as I can, about my journey. I am going to shoot for once a week. I currently work a full time job, am going to school full time, as well as I am a husband and father to 3 wonderful children, so life may get in the way some times.
