Want to Give a Great Back Massage?

A lot of people love getting a massage but very few people feel comfortable providing a massage to someone else. Many people are typically fearful of hurting someone else. We are terrified that we may not help enough. We are scared that the person getting the massage isn't going to like what we're doing. You will be glad to find out that anybody can learn how to give a terrific massage whenever they want to do just that. Here is how you can give a great back massage from Myrtle Beach Chiropractor whenever you wish to.

First, be sure that the person is comfortable while he lies down. They need to be laying down on a surface that is both firm and soft. If you don't own a massage table, you could try them on the bed. If they are on your floor, put down a mat or a few soft blankets or towels so that they will feel more relaxed. If the person wishes to remain clothed (and most will), be sure that the shirt they are wearing is made of soft material so there won't be as much friction or scraping.

Start out with the simple rub and read the manual from Myrtle Beach Chiropractor. In a slow manner, and using the entire flat side of both of your hands, rub up from the lower back area and toward the neck. Put a bit of pressure into this but avoid using full massage pressure at this point. Begin at the base of the person's back and then glide your hands up the back then across the shoulders and then back down the back. As you keep doing this, try to make each "loop" of the back smaller so that you can be certain to get to all areas of the back.

Using the heels of your hands provides you a great way to offer great and pointed pressure. Using the heels of your palms to apply pressure, start working in small circles at the base of the back on either side of the spinal column and then work those small circles out toward the person's sides, up a little bit and then back across to the spinal column and upward until you have massaged the entire back.

Try to sit on one of the sides of the person you are massaging. Then, place one hand on top of the other and thrust into the back using only your fingers. Start with the spinal column and dig in steadily away from the spinal column, across your back and then very lightly rub your hands back toward the spinal column. Do this again as you work your way up the back and then do this on the other side.

Rub the spinal column. Start out at the base of the back and work up each of the sausage-y muscles on each side of the spinal column with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Massage each node at least five times each so that you can build up a little bit of friction. Chiropractor Myrtle Beach shared some tips to massage all the way up one side of the spinal column and then work up the other side.

Something that you need to remember as you use these massage techniques is that it is good to re-relax the person between each part of the massage that you give. This means that after you're done using the heels of your hands for specific applied pressure, you need to go back to the rub you used at the beginning for a few minutes.
