Aiken SC Celebrates Earth Day 2011

For the seventh year in a row, the City of Aiken SC will be celebrating Earth Day 2011 on Friday, April 29th from 9am to 1pm.  Sponsored by Savannah River Remediation, Aiken's Earth Day celebration will take place at the gorgeous Hopelands Gardens (1700 Whiskey Rd).  This event is open to all ages and totally free.

Environmental exhibits will be available to peruse as you take a leisurely stroll along the garden paths at your own pace.  Some of the exhibitors scheduled to be a part of the Aiken Earth Day celebration include:

Aiken's mayor, Fred Cavanaugh, will address attendees from the Windham Stage between 11am and noon.  Special performances by the UU Drummers and the Columbia Marionette Theater Group will follow the mayor's welcome.  At that time, all exhibits will be closed.

Bring a sack lunch and learn more about what you and your community can do to keep Aiken beautiful.  Join in with others as Aiken SC celebrates Earth Day 2011 at the Hopelands Gardens on Friday, April 29th.  And remember, if you need to buy or sell an Aiken home, please be sure to contact me.
