Fairfax County 4H Fair
This weekend is the 4H Fair and Frying Pan Park Farm Show in . These two separate events have been grouped together to make for one fantastic weekend of family-friendly fun. The Fairfax County 4H Fair and Farm Show will take place at Frying Pan Farm Park located at 2709 W Ox Rd in Herndon, VA.
In addition to the animal exhibits created by local 4H clubs, there will be plenty of food and carnival games as well as demos, exhibits and live music shows to keep fairgoers busy. Try your hand at some of the regular day-to-day chores farm families have to perform. Watch goat and cow milking demonstrations. View the dog and horse shows. Enjoy live performances by local clogging and dance troupes. Wagon rides, blacksmithing demos, bee keeping exhibits and an antique tractor pull are just some of the many things going on throughout the weekend.
4H Fair hours are 9am to 9pm on Saturday, August 4th and 9am to 5pm on Sunday, August 5th. Admission to the fair is free. However, you must purchase ride tickets to be allowed access to any of the carnival rides on the grounds. Unlimited day passes for the rides are available at the box office for just $25 each. You must also pay to watch the antique tractor race on Saturday at 5pm. These tickets are just $7. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
The 4H Fair and Frying Pan Park Farm Show is a great way to spend the weekend with the family. City folks have an opportunity to get up close and personal with nature and have lots of fun in the process. Spend some time in the beautiful Northern Virginia countryside and learn what Fairfax County 4H clubs are all about.
