Rancho Santa Fe

Rancho Santa Fe houses the most expensive real estate in all of California with exclusive, beautiful homes in many gated communities.  Referred by residents and locals as “Rancho”, this neighborhood is an unincorporated upscale, luxurious bedroom community located four miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in Northern San Diego County.  Rancho Santa Fe lies east of Solana Beach, twenty miles north of Downtown San Diego.
 
In the heart of the village of Rancho Santa Fe is a very exclusive golf course called the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.  The golf club opened its course on June 5, 1929.  This spectacularly endowed “natural” golf course was carved from the rolling terrain of a eucalyptus forest and is surrounded by horseback riding trails and beautiful estates.

Distinguished as one of the finest “walkable” designs in the world, this championship course is an eighteen hole, par 72 layout.   Membership in the Club is available only to members of the Rancho Santa Fe Association by virtue of ownership of Covenant property.  It’s also the original site of entertainer Bing Crosby’s Annual “Clambake” from 1937 to 1942.  This famous golf event paired celebrities and businessmen with professionals for a 36-hole weekend event.
