Tierrasanta is referred to as the “Island of the Hills” due to its clear boundaries surrounded by open land. Tierrasanta is an upscale residential neighborhood bounded on the north by the Mount Soledad (52) Freeway and the fields of MCAS Miramar. To the east of Tierrasanta is Mission Trails Regional Park which encompasses nearly 5,800 acres of both natural and developed recreational areas. Residents from all over San Diego County come to Mission Trails to enjoy the numerous hiking, mountain biking and running trails.
Tierrasanta is a quiet suburban community centrally located and only eight miles northeast of downtown San Diego. There’s even a branch of the San Diego Public Library in the neighborhood.At this location, there are books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and much, much more. In addition, there are lots of ongoing programs for all ages including book clubs, story time for the youngsters, yoga, baby sign language, arts & crafts and game time! They also have Internet computers with WiFi access.
Shoppers who stay local find the Tierrasanta Town Center a great place to save. It’s located at 10615 Tierrasanta Blvd and serves the community with its financial institutions, health and beauty stores, professional services and a variety of restaurants.
The Tierrasanta Recreational Center, located at 11220 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego was built in 1990 and is open Monday through Saturday (Closed on Sunday’s). The facilities available are a gymnasium, meeting rooms, a dance room, children’s play area, picnic areas, tennis courts and a swimming pool.
Tierrasanta is also known for homes offering canyon views with plenty of nature trails. This community also consists of single family homes, condo’s, apartments, shopping centers and top schools. This neighborhood is close to the major shopping areas of La Jolla, North Park, and Hillcrest.
