Best Types Of Bothell Mortgages

So you have narrowed down your decision on your new home, and are now looking into financing.  You’ll want to get a Bothell mortgage that will give you a monthly fee that you can afford without a lot of surprises.  So what is the best type of mortgage out there?  Honestly, it depends on what you are looking for.  The best thing to do is to understand some of the different types of mortgages and pick which one is best for you.

Here are some of the most common types of mortgages.

Adjustment rate mortgages

Adjustable rate mortgages, also known as ARMs, are appealing to a lot of buyers because they allow you to pay only on the interest.  The problem with these types of mortgages is the loan takes much longer to pay down, and the buyer ends up paying far more than the house in Bothell is worth.  Also, if the interest rate goes up, so does the mortgage.  This is a very bad option with no stability.

Fixed rate mortgages

In most cases your best option is to get a mortgage with a fixed rate.  While you will probably pay a larger monthly payment, you won’t have to worry about fluctuations in the interest rate. When interest rates rise, your payment does not go up because the rate is fixed.

Bad credit mortgages

These mortgages usually end up costing you more than what they are worth. There is a reason why banks and traditional Bothell lending institutions do not handle bad credit mortgages and it all has to do with interest rates. If you do find someone that will handle your mortgage even if you have a bad credit history, you're going to have to pay an incredible rate of interest. While it may seem worth it now, take a look at how much interest you are going to have to pay through the years and you may think twice about it.

Your Bothell real estate agent can also talk to you about your mortgage options and give you more information about the benefits of getting pre-approved for a mortgage.
