Why Use LLCs with Self-Directed IRAs

I often stress the importance of using LLCs as the best entity structure for your real estate deals. Here's just another example of how LLCs offer maximum flexibility and protection when using your self-directed IRA to invest.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE LLC?

1. If you want investment flexibility, then the LLC structure is the way to go. This entity simplifies asset titling and allows for immediate response to investment opportunities.

2. If you want to pool your assets with other investors or with the account owner's investment money, the LLC structure allows for this. Pooling  is a powerful way for SDIRA investors to  participate in larger investment opportunities.

 3. Retirement Plan assets need protection. The LLC structure offers an additional layer of protection for this purpose.

The IRA/LLC structure also allows you to invest in anything allowable by the IRS.

The IRA/LLC structure is the most elegant and flexible structure for an investor who wants to take advantage of all investments that are allowable by the IRS and ERISA.
