Could it be time to clean your tiles?

Everyday exposure to dirt, smoke, rust, water, and chemicals can make ceilings look dingy and unattractive. A dirty ceiling is not only visually unappealing to potential renters, but can be a health hazard. If you share these concerns, it may be time to clean or replace your ceiling tiles.

Some benefits of replacing ceiling tiles are improving building acoustics and overall lighting, in addition to improved fire and health ratings. Building owners have several easy, effective options when it comes to updating their ceiling. Most ceiling solutions low-cost, tax-deductible, and interfere very little with your everyday operations.

Ceiling improvement can usually be handled in one of two ways; tile cleaning or title resurfacing. Taking either of these routes is effective and convenient. A better ceiling can also lead to improved living environments. Nearly all types of ceiling tiles can be improved by an intense cleaning. Common ceiling materials are vinyl, plaster, acoustic, blown, sheetrock, metal pan, or spray texture ceilings can all be made to look new again with a professional tile-cleaning service. Professional cleaning can remove tile stains caused by dirt, cigarette smoke, kitchen smoke and grease, water stains, and rust. If you are wanting to schedule a tile-cleaning but are concerned about harsh chemicals and their impact on the environment, many businesses now specialize in using green-materials and cleaning supplies.

If you’re dealing with a significant amount of damage or discoloration, ceiling resurfacing may be the way to go. During resurfacing, tiles, grids, vents and speakers are coated with a low-VOC level coating. In addition to giving the appearance of a brand-new ceiling, the procedure increases light dispersion, reducing the need artificial lighting. Resurfacing is an environmentally friendly option not only reduces the need for brand new material, but also decreases the amount of solid waste deposited into landfills.

In cases where ceiling cleaning or resurfacing are not options, complete tile replacement can be done. Most styles of ceilings can be easily restored in minimal time. While not the most environmentally friendly option, you can ensure that you are being responsible by going with a service provider that specializes in green services. They will ensure that your old tiles are disposed of responsibly and recycled when possible.
