Kinds of Home Ice Making Equipments

There are a lot of ice making equipments that can cater to every need. Some of them are used in commercial businesses such as in a restaurant, fish market, bars, coffee shop and a lot more. What if you need an ice maker just for your home? What are the different kinds of machines that you can look for?

Freezer Based Ice Maker

This type of machine often comes with your refrigerator. Some refrigerators might have this kind of feature while others don't. The machine produces crescent-shaped cubes which made from a meticulous process. An electronic timer opens a solenoid valve for just a few seconds to allow the water to fill the mold in the refrigerator.

Once the mold has been filled, the timer closes the valve and lets the water freeze for about 30 - 45 minutes. After it has been made, the timer is turned on again to partially heat the mold so that the ice-cube is removed easily. The rotating arm then scoops the cube out and places them in a bin and it is now ready to be use.

Portable Ice Maker

Portable ice makers will fit perfectly in your kitchen counter-top. It uses minimal space but still one of the fastest equipment in the market. The portable ice machine can produce ice in just a matter of 10 minutes. Ice is made by pumping water in the tub that has metal pegs which is immersed in water.

The cooling system can be found inside the metal peg which is the one responsible in making ice. The heating system which is also found on the pegs allows the ice to slip off the peg and go straight to the ice bin. The only downside of portable machines is that it does not prevent the ice from melting, but on the good side, the machine will use the excess water to produce more ice.

Freestanding Ice Makers

This is kind of similar with the portable ice machine but the only difference is that it is slightly larger and the cube produced is cloudy and opaque. This is because air bubbles are getting trapped during the ice making process which results in a cloudy and opaque characteristic of it.

There are different kinds of ice making equipments but those are the most common types that I think will perfectly fit in your home. Just choose the one that's suitable for your need
