More Real Estate Agents Working out of Home

I just read an article about more agents working out of home than in their office. The article was addressing cost savings of working out of home vs. in the office. Is working out of home a real cost savings? I know in my office that the agents who have a desk in most cases do better than my at home agents. Myself, I could never work out of home. I start doing work around the house if I am home. I'm more focused and productive in the office. I retired from a staff job in the USAF so I am accustomed to working out of the office. I do know agents who are very productive working out of their home. But most of them have a staff or at least an assistant working out of the office. I am not saying that agents should spend their time behind a desk. Real estate does take place outside of the office. Do you think that you are more productive working out of home or the office?

  1. Definitely more productive at home ... going to an office where other self employed individuals are simply distracts me. Their objectives aren't the same as mine. In reality, we are in competition. Commuting to & from an office takes time away from my productivity.
