My Search for REOs

I recently moved back to the States after living overseas for 2 years. I enjoyed the time away but missed many good deals in local southern California market.

I started looking REOs offered by Fannie and HUD and saw some really good deals. I even came across a condo in my neighborhood for very reasonable price. It was listed on on Friday and it was gone in 24 hours. There are good deals... you just need to keep you eyes open and ready to act.
Another interesting property was listed last week 110k, 2 units on a large lot in Riverside County. The lot can have 3 units. Few similar sized lots have been sub-divided to 4 units with each one worth about 120k. Definitely a good candidate buy and hold, and maybe development in few years when the area is back to life.
So far, it is still learning phase, getting to know the market.
A friend who has been buy REOs in Las Vegas suggested I should take a look at Vegas. I'm open to ideas, and it doesn't hurt and to and look. So Las Vegas, here I come. Hopefully we will find some good deals in Vegas.

  1. Thanks Kevin for your comments. I only have basic membership BP and can't add colleagues. But I did notice few real estate professionals (Glen) in the Vegas market on BP, and I will reach out to them.

  2. If you are headed to Vegas, make sure you team up with a reputable BP member. I hear the Vegas market is very difficult. I could be wrong, but that is why this site is here. To help each other!
