Parkland Kids Summer Camp

If you're a Parkland resident, registration is now open for the Parkland Kids Summer Camp. Beginning Monday, June 18, 2012 and continuing through Friday, August 10, 2012, there will be two separate four-week sessions of Kids Camp at Park Trails Elementary School or you can enroll your child for the entire eight weeks, if you'd like. Kids ages 5-11 will be placed according to their age in a group of no more than 25 children. Each group will be supervised by a senior counselor, a junior counselor and a counselor-in-training. To be considered, your child must have turned five years old before the first day of the first session (June 18, 2012).

From 8:30am to 4pm, kids will engage in activities that include: sports, games, arts and crafts and other on-site activities. Additionally, throughout the session, there will be field trips to Parkland area facilities (movies, bowling, museums, etc). These trips are included in the cost of the program. A special Open House will take place at Park Trails Elementary and Westglades Middle Schools on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 10am to 1pm so you can ask questions about the summer camp program and get to know the counselors.

• Session A - June 18, 2012 to July 13, 2012
• Session B - July 16, 2012 to August 10, 2012
• Full Summer - June 18, 2012 to August 10, 2012

Registration fees are $40 per child. While local field trips are included in the summer camp fees paid, additional fees will be required for the optional trip to Legoland (Session B), Islands of Adventure (Session B) and Rapids Waterpark (Session A & B). Parkland Summer Camp fees are as follows:

• Session A OR Session B - Residents $575, Non-Residents $675.
• Full Summer - Residents $1100, Non-Residents $1300.
• Legoland - $90 (6am-11pm)
• Islands of Adventure - $90 (6am-11pm)
• Rapids Waterpark - $25 (9am-4pm, ages 8+)

Before care (8am to 8:30am) and after hours (4pm to 5pm) are available for additional fees as well. Parkland residents are allowed to begin mailing in their registration forms now.
