1st step...admit you have a problem
So here I am, finally doing something "real" towards real estate investing. Actually, I've done a few things already, but this is the first public thing. I have friends who know I want to start investing. Of course they all say it's a horrible idea. I expected that. I read Armando's book, he told me to expect that. (Just in case you're wondering, I got it at half priced books used for $9, and did NOT buy his $1000 course used for $400 on eBay. I thought about it though...then I found BP)
Anyway, I digress. I do that often, actually. If you read my posts, you'll quickly learn that I'm ADD (no, I'm not hyper so I don't include the H) and digress often, and tend to over analyze and use lots of run-on sentences with lots of words and several thoughts strung together. I apologize in advance for this if you're not used to people with ADD.
Back to Real Estate...I almost finished my business plan for flipping, which intend on presenting to a couple of well-off friends that are looking to invest in something. Of course, neither of them will be easy to convince on real estate, especially considering all I've done is read, mostly.
Here are the tangible things I've "done":
- Read Armando's Flip And Grow Rich
- Found J Scott's Blog from Google, and read it from start to finish twice, drooling with visions of dollar signs painted beige with white trim, which led me to BP
- Read and read and read and read on BP.
- Met a poster on here, visited his RE group weekly meeting
- Went to Tim Cook's REI group meeting in Weatherford once with wife
- Got a Google Voice Phone Number with "SELL" as the last 4 digits
- Started writing business plan/presentation for flipping using private money
- Came up with a Company Name with wifey's help
- Came up with we buy houses web address with wifey's help
- Created simple logo in Vista Print, even though I don't like their card quality
As you can see, I'm starting to put the building blocks in place. Just need to keep myself motivated to connect the dots. One little thing every day is my goal.
I'll likely write more tomorrow, when I'm more awake and can organize my thoughts a little better (Ritalin wore off hours ago).
Thanks for reading.
