Over the past few months, we developed a research study on apartment community use of Ancillary Income, and to start off, we wanted to develop a comprehensive list of the most common types of income in this vein. In total, we amassed a list of dozens of types of income, although please feel free to add your own in the comments so we can improve this research in the future! 

Here are the 10 most commonly collected forms of ancillary income: (Percentage shows percent of responders who collected that type of income)

Application Fees: 92.09%

Late Fee: 87.05%

Pet Rent: 82.73%

Early Termination: 71.94%

Month to Month Fee: 67.63%

Water: 58.99%

Parking/Garage Fees: 54.68%

Admin Fees: 53.96%

Trash: 53.24%

Washer/Dryer: 42.45%

Quick note: Not all municipalities allow for charging for these items outside of expense reimbursement, so please follow your local laws regarding these ancillary income options.
