Success is Just an Intelligent Plan Away

One of the most critical things for any person to do in their personal, professional, or financial life is to make intelligent plans.  When we simply ‘wing it’ for an extended period of time, it results in our missing opportunities because we weren’t prepared.  It is most certainly true that we cannot foresee, nor prepare for all of the contingencies that we may be faced with in the future.  However, it is possible for us to use sensible planning techniques to ensure that we are prepared to adapt when changes unfold.

There is an old saying that “plans are useless, but planning is priceless” … the wisdom of this saying is in its emphasis on the insights that we gain from the process of critical thinking to develop plans.  The way that we build the best life we can create for both ourselves and our families that are through laying thoughtful plans.  The reason why football coaches create their game plan during the week, instead of simply ‘playing it by ear’ on Sunday is because it is easy to become emotional in the heat of the moment.

Take your emotions out of the equation by making your plans while you can think calm and rationally.  Make sure that each decision you make fills a particular purpose in your five-year plans and long-term goals.  By doing this, it will set you up to achieve long-term success.
