Evicted Tenant Kills Vegas landlord

This could have been prevented......Story here.

Normal 1403901305 Iron Maiden Killers

Well, the next time someone asks us to negotiate our management fees this story will be sent to them. This is a serious reality check about why we have systems and process' in place. This property owner took it upon herself to confront the tenant alone, instead of having a professional with experience handle the situation. The confrontation cause the disturbed tenant to choke her to death. When people have nothing to lose, they can be most dangerous. This is also the reason many property managers carry concealed weapons. Hint.. hint..wink...wink..nod. After domestic violence in level of volatility comes evictions. After reviewing the details of the story, this absolutely could have been prevented. The initial screening process would have illuminated many of this convicted felons character defects as he had 51 years of history to review. Full lock out evictions are rare for us now, but since we started this business on the tougher side of town we have had much experience. Some landlords might laugh at the idea of receiving death threats but all hints of an issue are taken very serious by this property manager. Tradewind Blog
