FEAR FEAR And More FEAR
I have gone back and forth about starting this blog and for many reasons, I decided I should. I have always been open about things I am going through and feel this whould be no different. Perhaps there is someone else out there who is having the same issue(s) as I am. Perhaps there is someone out there who has already gone through what I am going through and has suggestions on how to deal with them. Either way, I am putting my experiences out there and waiting to see what happens.
I started out in Real Estate Investing in February 2012 after attending my first seminar. I was excited and anxious about the future and what I could do once I out my mind to it. What I wasn't ready for was my old trusty friend...FEAR. I decided that due to lack of funds, I would start out in Wholesaling. I knew that it was the easiest way to get into the real estate business. So I set out to learn all I could about wholesaling and how to do it successfully. I have paid for courses, attended more seminars and have fully embraced the idea that I will have to work hard to get success. But here I am almost a year into investing and I feel like I am standing on the edge of a swimming pool afraid to jump in.
In my daily routine, I have driven by at least four homes that are FSBOs. I have written the address and phone numbers down, looked up what info I could on free appraisal websites, started filling out my Seller Lead Sheets....but have not picked up the phone to call. FEAR has me paralyzed. I can not bring myself to call any of these people. I have a FEAR of not having all the answers, a FEAR of not being able to close the deal, a FEAR of just not being good enough and a FEAR of not being able to sell. I am just plain old scared. I have no idea how to get myself off of the edge I feel I am standing on.
