Also, be sure to have a disaster response team available to you. Whether it’s one company that will bail you out of any jam or a combination of specialized companies, having them ready to handle whatever Mother Nature might bring will save you a world of headaches.

And if it’s possible, make sure that your disaster team is exclusive to your property. If there’s a widespread disaster and your property is halfway down the list, there may not even be a property left to save by the time they get to you.
