Consolidated Government - not quite as sexy as some other things, but this means the entire 885 square miles within Duval County is under the jurisdiction of the City of Jacksonville.  Rehabbers and Turnkey people understand what this means - the power of one.  One Building Department, One Planning and Zoning Office, etc.  One.  For all 885 square miles.

(the only exception is the beach communities.  we also have two historic districts, but we have these things because we don't want to make it TOO easy for non-locals to figure it out).
