Tip-a-Cop for Special Olympics in Reno

This Thursday, March 18, 2010, head on down to Applebees Bar and Grill to help "Tip-a-Cop" for Special Olympics in Reno.  Located at the Applebees on 4805 Kietzke Lane, this annual event brings local law enforcement officers in to Applebees to visit with restaurant patrons, discuss the Nevada Special Olympics program and solicit tax exempt donation "tips".  Last March, the "Tip-a-Cop" campaign raised $4100 in one day.  When you add the $3136 raised in November to that, the Reno Applebees collected the most donated "tips" of the three restaurants participating (including Sparks and Carson City).  More than $25,000 was raised for the Nevada Special Olympics from 13 Applebees locations in Nevada last year alone.  This money helps pay the fees involved for Special Olympics athletes to compete in their summer Olympics.  Nevada law enforcement officers are huge supporters of the Special Olympics and the "Tip-a-Cop" event is one way Reno policemen can help.  Remember, though, that the "tips" that you graciously donate to the "Tip-a-Cop" event are not meant to replace the tips you leave for the hard-working Applebees staff who partner up with the police officers to serve you your food.  So, don't forget them when you pay your bill.  Reno police officers will be at the Reno Applebees from 11am-3pm (for lunch) and 5-9pm (for dinner).  So, please come down to the Applebees Bar and Grill on Kietzke Lane for the Tip-a-Cop fundraiser for Special Olympics in Reno.  It's lots of fun for a great cause.  And great food, too.
