Celebrate Earth Day in Reno

While April 22 is officially Earth Day across the country, you can come celebrate Earth Day in Reno on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Idlewild Park from 10am-5pm.  This event is absolutely FREE to the public.  For the 21st year in a row, Reno will be hosting this fun time for the entire family in celebration of Earth Day.  There will be food, live music, information on sustainable living and energy-efficient products, over 100 vendors selling eco-friendly products, locally-grown produce for sale at the farmers market on-site and an expanded kids' tent so the kids can have even more fun than previous years.

Please keep in mind that most of the vendors at Reno's Earth Day event do not accept credit or debit cards.  The closest ATM available to Idlewild Park is at Raley's (Hunter Lake & California Street, Reno).  It is recommended that you bring cash if you are interested in purchasing any of the vendors' products or fresh produce.

If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the Nevada EcoNet website to give them your information.  Come out to celebrate Earth Day in Reno on Sunday, April 25, 2010.  You'll have lots of fun and learn how to reduce your carbon footprint at the same time.
