Visit Reno Farmers Markets

The absolute best way to get healthy, visit your neighbors and encourage local farmers and artisans is to visit Reno Farmers Markets.  We are so lucky to have so many different Farmers Markets to choose from, too.  In fact, the only day of the week that there are no local farmers markets happening in the Reno area is Monday.  Here is a breakdown of all the Reno Farmers Markets so you can choose which one is most convenient for you:

Tuesdays
Shoppers Square Farmers Market- Located at 370 Casazza Drive in Reno, opens at 8am.  This market is open every Tuesday through October 5, 2010.  Offers fresh produce and more.

Wednesdays
Pony Express Pavillion Farmers Market
- Located at 1111 E William St in Carson City, opens at 3pm.  This market is open every Wednesday through August 25, 2010.  Offers fresh produce and more.

Somersett Farmers Market- Located at Somersett Town Square, 7650 Town Square Lane in Reno, opens at 4pm, entertainment begins at 5pm.  This market offers fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods (including gluten-free), jewelry and live entertainment.  Live music includes 'Ambush' on August 11, 'The Mighty 88's' on August 18 and 'Guitar Woody and the Boilers' on Aug 25.  All of this is provided absolutely free.

Thursdays
Sparks Hometowne Farmers Market- Located at Victorian Square, downtown Sparks, opens at 4pm.  This market is open every Thursday through August 19, 2010.  Offers fruits, vegtables, crafts and live music.

Fridays
Tamarack Junction Farmers Market - Located at Tamarack Junction Casino, 13101 S Virginia St in Reno, opens at 8am.  This market is open every Friday through October 8, 2010.

Farmers Market at Garden Shop Nursery- Located at the Garden Shop Nursery, 3636 Mayberry Dr in Reno, opens at 4pm.  This market is open every Friday until the end of August 2010.  Offers food, wine, produce, workshops and contests.  Bring a photo of your flower garden on August 13 for home gardeners flower contest and a photo of your veggie garden for the home gardener's photo contest on August 20.  Winners of both contests will be announced on August 27.

Saturdays
Village Center Farmers Market - Located at Village Center at California & Booth St in Reno, opens at 8am.  This market is open every Saturday through October 2, 2010.  Offers fresh produce and more.

Sierra Summit Farmers Market - Located at The Summit, 13925 S Virginia St in Reno, opens at 8:30am.  This market is open every Saturday through September 11, 2010.  Offers fresh fruits, veggies, specialty packaged goods, baked goods, flowers and arts and crafts.

Sundays
South Reno Farmers Market
- Located at The Grove at South Creek, 95 Foothill Rd in Reno, opens at 9am.  This market is open every Sunday.  Offers kid-friendly entertainment, fresh/organic food and live music.

West Street Farmers Market - Located at West St Market, 148 West St in Reno, opens at 9am.  This market is open every Sunday through September 12, 2010.  Have some brunch, enjoy live music, shop for fresh produce and more.

As you can see, we have a variety of farmers markets to choose from that offer something for everyone.  Support local farmers and artists by coming out to visit Reno farmers markets whenever you can.
