CAR Expo Reminded Me to Keep My Balance!
This past week, I attended the California Association of Realtors Expo, also known as the CAR Expo, in Long Beach, California. This event took place from October 8-10 and featured many classes on growing our real estate business.
I sat in one of the courses on “Mastering the Art of Work and Life Balance.” Looking at the message in the title of the course alone reminded me that as we progress in our careers that we also have to remember that there’s the need for all of us in real estate to keep the other parts of our wheel in balance. I was once taught that the areas of our lives that we need to keep balance involve the following:
* Family/Relationships
* Health
* Finances
* Career
* Spirituality
* Emotions/Meaning
* Physical Body
When one area of our lives are moving well, there may be another area that is lacking or suffering because of the amount of attention and focus we put into that area and vice versa. But, there’s something that we can all do to make sure that we are constantly growing in the areas of our lives that will impact us greater than letting the months and years pass us. This tool is called the Wheel of Life. It’s a great measuring tool that I use every three months to see where I am and where I’ve been and allows me to create a plan to get areas of my life at a higher level.
I will be taking the education from the California Association of Realtors Expo into my region to allow us to continue our momentum into the next year. I’d like the opportunity to work with you if you are anywhere in Southern California, including San Diego, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties.
When we constantly raise our standards, we grow and become more.
