My Goal

With everything that is currently going on in my life(Job, Baby #2 on the way, Renting Underwater Home, Rowdy toddler) I realized that there has got to be a better way to live. I currently work my butt off commuting up and down the highway for a paycheck that ultimately gets me and my family by. I've always said in my head that I would start to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon but so far it's been pitch black. I know I won't be able to quit my job in a year but what I do want is a future that looks brighter than what I'm currently faced with. I want to invest in a long term hold property to setup myself and my family for the future. Over the next year I am going to study, save, and plan for this purchase.

After the year I want to:

A. Move my family out of my mother in laws into our "forever home"

B. Purchase my first buy and hold property in Baltimore City, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, or other urban location

After a year of renting out my initial property I want to purchase one "long-term-hold" property every year for the next 5 years.

  1. Any progress on this yet @Glenn Lovelace ?

  2. Hey @jay wright the property is located in Windsor Mill Md. If you know anyone looking in bmore county send em my way. I have looked at section 8 if that's what you mean. They have limits on what you can charge for a 2br 2ba which is way undervalued for my area. Ideas for what to do with this property are greatly appreciated! Keep them coming because I'm all out!

  3. So have you gotten any biters yet on the property? Where is the property located and have you looked into subsidized housing as an option for a renter?
