2011 Ventura County Fair

It's almost that time of year, my friends.  The 2011 Ventura County Fair takes place this year from August 3rd to the 14th.  This year's theme is "Bounty of the County" in celebration of everything Ventura County has to offer its residents and visitors.

In addition to the carnival rides, games and food, there is a wide assortment of some amazing live entertainment.  All entertainment is included in the purchase price of your Ventura County Fair admission ticket.  Some of the entertainment scheduled for this year's Ventura County Fair includes:

• August 3 & 4, 6pm - Motorsports (needs an additional ticket purchase of $5 per adult, kids are free with paid adult)
• August 5, 7:30pm - Pat Benetar and Neil Giraldo
• August 6, 7:30pm - Clay Walker with Matt Norris
• August 7, 3pm - Alex Rivera, Bronco and Ezequiel Pena (for Dia de la Familia)
• August 8, 7:30pm - Three Days Grace
• August 9, 1pm - The Four Tops
• August 9, 7:30pm - The Beach Boys
• August 10, 7:30pm - REO Speedwagon
• August 11, 7:30pm - Lifehouse with special guest Toy
• August 12, 7:30pm - Trace Adkins
• August 13 & 14, 2pm & 7pm - Rodeo

Gates open at 11am every weekday during the fair and 10am on the weekends.  General admission is just $12 per adult (ages 13 and older), $9 for kids ages 6-12, $9 for seniors (ages 62+) and free to kids under 6 or Super Seniors (100 years young or more).  There will be special admission days, however. 

• Wednesday, August 3 - Dollar Day: Until 3pm, all visitors get in for $1.
• Thursday, August 4 - Carnival Wristband Day: Purchase a wristband for $25 until 6pm and get unlimited carnival rides until 7pm.
• Thursday, August 4 - Fair Cares Food Drive: With each adult ticket purchase and a donation of 5 cans of nonperishable food before 3pm, receive a free return ticket valid for August 8-11, 2011.
• Friday, August 5 - Youth Day: Kids ages 12 and under get in free all day.
• Monday, August 8 - Carnival Wristband Day: Purchase a wristband for $25 until 6pm and get unlimited carnival rides until 7pm.
• Tuesday, August 9 - Seniors & Persons With Disabilities Day: Free admission and early entry (10am) for all seniors (62+) and persons with disabilities.
• Tuesday, August 9 - Carnival Wristband Day: Purchase a wristband for $25 until 6pm and get unlimited carnival rides until 7pm.
• Thursday, August 11 - Military Day: Free admission with a valid, current military ID.
• Thursday, August 11 - Carnival Wristband Day: Purchase a wristband for $25 until 6pm and get unlimited carnival rides until 7pm.
